Glove Puppets in Riga Secondary School Nr.74

1)      Raw materials were prepared (cardboard, fabric, patterns, thread, scissors, glue, water etc.)

2)      Teacher announced the aims, tasks of the puppet work shop and started the discussion. Children had the possibility to express their ideas, share their views  about different kinds of puppets – from  no china, self-made, produced at different times. Children gave the preferences to the self-made puppets. They can create different faces with different  face expressions. Children learned about different theatre puppets - marionettes, rod puppets, finger puppets, glove puppets.

3)      Taecher demonstrated how does the  golve puppets look like and from which materials they consist of. Then announced the start of the creative work shop.

4)      Children step by step created their dolls: a body, a head, draw a face with the expression. Next step was: while dolls are dried , children create them dress, according to the chosen profession.

5)      When dolls are ready children had to imagine how they can be advertised.Their task was to describe their character, personal traits and tell why this doll is so special.

6)      Ready made puppets were dresses in special dressess. Children rehearsed diffrerent roles  of professions, displayed them to other children.
