Riga Pre-school Education institution „Austrina” at SOCIAL CARE CENTRE „PĀRDAUGAVA”

Activity 1 To make the musical performance „Old men’s glove“ (15 kids, the teacher of the group and the teacher of music). Children improve skills to speak dialogs, to sing new songs, to move and to dance. Making costumes for performance together with parents. Teachers create the scenario,  find suitable songs together with the music teacher, create motivation for action - pleasure for the others, to learn songs, movements, dances and texts for musical performances, dialogs. Results are creative and active  childdren, who can do music and do public presentation, be sensitive in relation to feelings of the  others, parents involvement, gratification for accomplished work.         

Activity 2 Making treat – the oldest and pre-school preparatory groups’ children are making cookies for inmates of the social care centre. Children follow the recipe and make cookies, to make special packages for gifts, to improvise with varied dressing. Teachers  find and propose varied recipe for cookies, prepare raw materials for dough and materials for making special gift packages, create motivation for pleasure for the others. Results are skills to make cookies, creative approach  to choose dressing, ability to teamwork, ability to plan manageable work, to make a design for gift  (special packages for cookies), ability  to accept  each other.

Activity 3 Large size greeting posters - 3-4 year old kids are making greeting posters together. Children are working together in small groups, they are making a design collectively, and children are feeling free to unify all learned appliqué techniques. Teachers prepare materials for the large size greeting posters,  motivate children to feel free to choose necessary appliqué materials, create motivation for action for pleasure for the others resulted in gratification for accomplished work, ability to teamwork with contemporaries together, to plan manageable work, initiative, creative approach to make greetings, desire to create a joy and to help the others, to be useful, positive, a self-appraisal.

Involvement of parents to donate things for inmates of social care centre “Pārdaugava”. There is great cooperation. We are thankful for the responsiveness of parents. We are satisfied for supporting and helping the others, creating a joy, forgetting the daily routine.
