About the program

Program “Enterprising School” is a new educational program in Ida-Viru County which is aimed at integrating enterprise in education system and thereby changing schools into more learning-friendly environments where teachers adopt the role of leaders and students receive bigger rights in decision making and taking responsibility. The focus in such schools is not so much on teaching as on learning and a wide spectrum of active learning methods are used. Enterprise in education does not concentrate on a single subject but is a common theme throughout all the subjects.

Enterprise in education can challenge the whole community. More attention can be drawn to the importance of enterprise education by involving businesses, local authorities and parents in the program. In today’s society we cannot educate our children for future professions because none of us has the ability to foresee those developments. Therefore, we have to equip our children with skills, knowledge and attitudes that help them cope with our quickly changing world.
